Maggie's Flag

Two fourth-grade students from Trindale Elementary, Maggie and Jessie, were recently recognized as winners in the America 250 NC: County Flag Challenge Submission, a statewide competition inviting students to creatively represent their home counties through original flag designs.

As part of the challenge, students were asked to design a flag that reflects what makes their county unique and meaningful. In addition to their artwork, participants wrote a short essay explaining the symbolism behind their designs, including the use of specific colors, images, words, and symbols. Students were encouraged to think deeply about their county’s history, culture, and community—and why they love living there.

Maggie and Jessie’s submissions stood out for their thoughtful design choices and clear explanations of how their flags represented Randolph County. Their work highlighted local pride, creativity, and strong writing skills, all while capturing the spirit of community and belonging that makes Randolph County special. Their success in the competition is a wonderful example of how creativity and civic pride can come together in meaningful ways.

Trindale Elementary is proud of Maggie and Jessie for their accomplishment and for representing our school and county so well. Congratulations to both students on this outstanding achievement!Jessie's Flag
